Described as "excellent lyrical, well crafted songs with edge", us three heated young men (Jimmy, Ian, Nick) finally climbed out of the frustrating drudge of slaving away for other people's bands only 5 months ago when our furious riffs, licks and chops found form in Jimmy and the Banned. In that short time, our list of highlights include recording a 5 track EP (soon to be released), being booked to support Squeeze legend Glenn Tilbrook, and even featuring as a backing band for a Hip-Hop artist during the televised Trafalgar Square EA games festival in November last year - alongside McFly, Kelly Rowland and Hot Leg. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead as The Republic marches onward!

A mountain to Climb

Jimmy and the Banned are a very young band with very old heads. We've done it all before, trawling through endless gigs down the Dog & Duck, playing to the barstaff and whichever girlfriends could muster the energy to turn up. We want more than that, big gigs where people come to enjoy good music and have a bit of a boogie... if only it were that easy. We're hoping that 2009 has many exciting things in store, so watch out for us on the Band Republic circuit, especially outside of London, where our attentions are fully focused on doing a Pied Piper and getting the people involved in Banned activities
