abouttheband
Have fun! The motto of Brighton based band Venetia and the Voltage. There is an energy in music – a voltage that makes us all alive.
They present ‘Keep Moving or Something Will Eat You’ a brand new album of original songs with driving drums and club beats; with the rawness and the rough edge of rock guitars and more hooks than a fisherman’s tacklebox. The band is: Lee on drums, Luke on bass, Reuben on guitar, Stuart on keys and Venetia sings and plays guitar and all sorts of gadgets and synths to boot.
Venetia is a former resident DJ at Going Places at Turnmills in London and has appeared at Fabric, The Boutique, The End, The Cross and Eden In Ibiza to name but a few. Venetia also ran Pear Music her own record label and produced for it too, with praise coming from Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo and Danny Rampling amongst others. She has now moved back to her hometown of Brighton to turn her latest studio project into a live extravaganza.
They have played all over Brighton and launched their own regular night ‘Have Fun’ at the Prince Albert in March . . . A night of electronic and guitar based nonsense with fantastic goodtime guest bands and DJs that just don’t know when to stop. It is the best place to catch the band in Brighton but they are due in London really soon and then beyond . . . They played their festival debut at the wonderful Secret Garden Party this July and can’t wait to get back there next year!
There is a SINGLE ON THE WAY IN SEPTEMBER – ‘You Give Me Something’ a proper release with a video containing all sorts of bimbletronic craziness. Second single and album release to follow later this year.
