The Peelers first began playing together at school, when founder members Kieran Jefferson (lead vocals and guitar) and Charles Phillips (drums and programming) met. After several close brushes with fame and various incarnations, The Peelers were born.
The Peelers have a unique sound, defying any attempts to pigeon-hole. Coming on like ‘The Bends’ era Radiohead, if Radiohead had been listening to Supertramp and American Music Club, their sound shifts from drama to joy in a few bars. They cite such diverse influences as Peter Gabriel, Porcupine Tree, and Tom Waits. The music, always energetic, always passionate, comes across best in a live environment. A Peelers show is something to behold, with audiences being left as sweaty and breathless as singer Kieran, who seems to gradually lose his mind through the set. Guitarist Ken Edmonds pulls swirling melodies from his instrument, while Robin Davey on bass and Charles on drums anchor the whole thing to earth (just) with their detailed and schizophrenic rhythm section. The two years or so that they have been playing has seen them attract a sizable following, and an ever expanding presence on the web.
The band plan many gigs for this summer, including a couple of festival appearances.

Hello fans. At the end of May we will be playing a gig at the Fleece in Bristol along with a band called Depressive Art, who are coming al the way from Sweden! They are very good, and it should be a great night - details to follow. Let us know what you think of our tunes - more coming soon.

Hello and hi. We are new here. How is the view? We played a great gig for Band Republic in Bristol a couple of weeks ago - this will be a great regular night, so get along to Joe Public's in Clifton to show your support. At the moment we are in the studio recording a new song, 'Bones', that we played at Joe Public's. We'll upload a video of that performance as soon as my laptop stops playing silly buggers and eating all my work just before I save it... Songs will also be uploaded soon, so keep watching.
