Every vote is important and vital to a cycle and the running of the people’s record label, however small we may think it is. When CD sales were high, a CD sleeve was important and people would enjoy having the images etc. Now that majority of sales are downloads, the artwork can still be effective and display an artists feel and style. When it comes to downloading the chosen single ‘Lay Low’, iTunes and other digital download stores will show the artwork that you decide. The band have been signed, the single has been chosen, now it’s time for the members to decide what date we release the record. What do they think? Well in three days time we will all know! Shortly aferwards they will get to choose the design, the press release and even what stunt they get the band to do as promotion for the single release. Lots still to decide, make sure you spread teh word and get people involved. If you are not signed up yet, go on, make a difference to the ever changing record industry!

For the experiment that is breaking a new band into the UK charts (without the backing of any major record company) to work, we need to build the community.

This will mean we have a realistic chance of achieving our aims and launching new bands careers. To do this we would like to encourage you to do your best to recruit members via your workplaces, schools, universities, families, friends & colleagues. The more people we can get to take part the better chance we have. Don’t forget the site is completely FREE and will mean you play a very integral part in a new bands career. How exciting will it be to see a band in the charts and being played on the radio knowing that it was your decisions that got them there!

This month a website launched that offers music’s answer to price comparison websites that now dominate the internet. With sites now so varied you could find out who offers the cheapest pair of hair cutting trimmers if you felt so inclined, it was unsurprising that someone eventually created the same for purchasing music.
